Overview
Luxor Flooring sells premium flooring for homes and projects. Its website moved from WordPress to a custom stack: a Next.js site, a Next.js admin, and an Express + MongoDB API.
The challenge
Marketing needed the freedom WordPress gave them — edit any page, reorder sections, swap images — without the plugin weight, security patches, and slow pages that came with it.
What I built
- Pages & sections builder — each page is a list of typed sections (hero slider, product highlight, CTA banner, and more). The same section type is defined once and shared by the API schema, the admin form, and the site component.
- Content modules — products and categories, project gallery, articles, testimonials and partners, a media library, inquiries, and site settings for logo, contact, navigation, footer, and default SEO.
- Public site — a fast, responsive company profile with catalog, project showcase, inquiry form, and WhatsApp contact.
- Hardened API — validation with Joi, rate limiting, HTML sanitizing, and image processing with Sharp.
Results
The team edits the whole website from the admin — no developer needed for content — on a site that is faster and easier to maintain than the old WordPress install.
