Overview
Grofty is a wallet for the Canton Network that started as a browser extension. The mobile app brings it to Android and iOS — the same wallet, rebuilt for the phone.
The challenge
A wallet cannot be "almost right." Key handling, transaction flows, validation, and error states must behave exactly like the shipped extension, while the interface has to feel native and premium on a small screen.
What I built
- A mobile port that mirrors the extension's logic, cryptography, transaction flows, and security policies — and completely redesigns the UI/UX for mobile.
- Wallet creation with a copyable recovery phrase, account login, and biometric authorization for signing sessions.
- Send, receive, bridge, swap, USDCx, and activity history, plus a QR scanner for wallet addresses.
- A migration from Expo to a pure React Native CLI build when native requirements outgrew the managed workflow, with logic covered by Jest.
Results
Users get the same trusted wallet in their pocket, with flows designed for thumbs instead of browser popups.
